A CROWD of floral enthusiasts and keen gardeners has starting growing at Blenheim Palace.

The Blenheim Palace Flower Show got under way at the Woodstock World Heritage Site yesterday for its sixth annual outing.

People throughout the county and further afield were invited to the grand floral pavilion which will serve as the epicentre for the popular three-day event.

The pavilion itself will be packed with exhibitors showcasing some of the UK’s finest nurseries and plantsman competing for the prestigious Best in Show award.

But there are many more activities on offer over the weekend to entertain the whole family.

This year's shopping village features an abundance of trade stands selling everything from unique garden gazebos and greenhouses to gardening sundries and products from over 250 exhibitors.

Visitors can head over to the food and drink pavilion, where food will be on offer from a range of purveyors and artisans.

There were some issues with traffic yesterday, with cars on their way to the show seen tailing back as far as Yarnton.

A palace spokesman said last night: "The traffic to the flower show has been very busy, we have worked hard to get everyone off the road and parked as quickly as possible.

"We are pleased to say that all traffic is flowing well now."
