COMMUTERS have been warned Oxford Parkway will be 'busier than normal' when Oxford Station closes next month.
Services will not be running from the city's main station between July 7 and July 22 due to track improvement work around Oxford.
Chiltern Railways will add carriages to its trains between Oxford Parkway and London Marylebone during this period and deploy more staff at the station.
A rail replacement bus service - organised by the rail firm and Oxford Bus Company - will travel between Oxford and Oxford Parkway.
Great Western Railway customers can use their train ticket to travel from Oxford Parkway but will need to pay for parking, which is £2 all day.
Customer services director at Chiltern Railways, Alan Riley, said: "To continue to improve our railways, engineering work sometimes needs to take place over longer periods.
"Our customers may experience busier than normal journeys during this period especially on services to and from Oxford Parkway.
"We have added as many extra carriages as possible and we will have extra customer ambassadors at stations."
All mainline services run by Great Western Rail (GWR) and Chiltern Railways into Oxford between Didcot Parkway, Oxford Parkway, Banbury and Moreton-in-Marsh will be affected, with bus replacement services operating at all stations instead.
