THE historic gateway entrance to Magdalen College could be restored after more than 130 years.
The Grade II listed High Street gateway was built in 1885 and the stone detail has become 'noticeably decayed'.
A condition survey carried out by the college said there were no major structural issues but 'very advanced decay' in certain areas.
It added that the stonework should be cleaned and conserved where possible but it was not so old that it couldn't be replaced.
