A TEENAGE girl has been taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital after she was knocked off her bike following a collision with a car this morning.

Paramedics were called to the junction of Staverton Road and Banbury Road in Summertown following the incident at around 8.30am.

The girl, thought to be aged around 15-years-old, received treatment at the scene for minor injuries before being taken to hopsital by ambulance. 

A spokesperson for South Central Ambulance Service said: "We received an emergency 999 call this morning at 8.24am with the caller reporting a collision between a car and a cyclist at the Staverton Road/Banbury Road junction in Oxford.

"We sent an ambulance to the scene and the cyclist, an approximately 15-year-old girl was treated and assessed for minor injuries before then being taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital for further treatment."
