THIS feast of dishes was cooked up by a group of refugee women as they work to forge stronger links with the local community.
The charity Refugee Resource which provides therapy for refugees, asylum seekers and vulnerable migrants, held a community cafe yesterday in the East Oxford Community Centre.
The second cafe held by the group, in partnership with the Oxford City of Sanctuary, the project aims to reduce loneliness and isolation by bringing different groups of people together.
Refugee Resource's women's group meets weekly and is open to female refugees and asylum seekers of any age.
It helps support and guide those who may have experience of war, torture, displacement and rape.
The group published ‘Come to Our Table’ last year, a book featuring recipes from the women's countries of birth.
Events for refugee week continue with a panel discussion tonight in Somerville College.
