BUS company bosses have apologised to passengers travelling between Oxford and Abingdon for a number of late services.
They issued the apology after teacher Louise O’Leary complained about ‘unreliable’ X3 and X2 morning services.
Ms O’Leary told the Oxford Bus Company she was struggling to get to her school on time to prepare for classes.
She added: “This is the third week running that the scheduled x3 and x2 services from Stratton Way have run completely out of sequence.
“Drivers are saying that they are not setting off and then setting off ahead of the bus in front.
"The 6.57am bus has completely disappeared. The services that are published to run from 6.39am onwards mostly carry key workers that have an early start into central Oxford and John Radcliffe Hospital.”
Oxford Bus Company managing director Phil Southall said: “We have reviewed our services from Stratton Way and unfortunately a small number of buses were late on occasion in recent weeks.
“In most cases this was due to reasons beyond our control, such as significant congestion on the A34.
“We have taken immediate steps to ensure improved punctuality.”
In April OBS revised the timetable of some Oxford city services to cope with increasing congestion.
