Guardian closes
THE Oxfordshire Guardian series of newspaper is to cease printing after seven years.
A message on the paper's website, which will also be closed, thanked readers for their support.
The message reads: "After nearly seven years, the decision has been made reluctantly to close the Oxfordshire Guardian and our sister titles The Oxford Paper and Basingstoke Observer and the associated websites.
"It has been a pleasure to bring you the local news over this time and thank all our readers and advertisers for your support."
The paper launched in July 2011.
