OXFORD Bus Company has announced it will be running a special shuttle bus to and from this weekend's Common People festival in South Park.

The service will operate between Oxford Railway Station and South Park every 10 minutes during peak hours to help people reach the festival.

Tickets will cost £5 for an adult return, £3 for a child return or £12 for a family of two adults and up to three children.

The firm has also said it will also operate a higher-frequency park and ride bus service from Thornhill and Seacourt car parks to St Clements throughout the weekend.

For festival goers travelling from London the X90 coach drops off at Glebe Road near the festival site and departs up to every 15 minutes from Victoria, Marble Arch and Marylebone Road, London.

Oxford Bus Company managing director Phil Southall said: “The Common People festival is a fantastic event that attracts thousands of people into Oxford.

"It will be very busy and so we took the decision to provide a special shuttle bus service and increase the frequency of the P&R service from Thornhill and Seacourt to help people get to and from the festival."

The shuttle bus 450 service will call at Oxford Rail Station stop R3, High Street stop K3 and the Divinity Road stop on Warneford Lane.

On Saturday the bus will begin operating at 10.30am and be every 15 minutes until midday when it will run every 8 to 10 minutes until 11.38pm.

Return buses from South Park to Oxford Rail Station will operate from 10.51am and be every 15 minutes until 12.21when it will run every 8 to 10 minutes until midnight.

On Sunday it will begin operating at 10.30am and be every 15 minutes until midday when it will run every 8 to 10 minutes until 11.40pm.

Return buses will operate from 10.51am and be every 15 minutes until 12.21 when it will run every 8 to 10 minutes until 12.05am.
