A HOUSEWIFE has won £100,000 on the Polish lottery - despite never having visited the country.

Marianne Oliveira, 28, who lives in Cowley downloaded the Lottoland app on her new phone, allowing her to bet on the results of lotteries in other countries.

She placed a £5 bet on the Polish KeNow game which allowed her to chose 10 random numbers out of a possible 70 and two hours later logged back in to discover she had won.

The mother-of-three said: “This amount of money is a lot for me and my family.

"Like many families, money is tight and winning this amount means that I can spoil my children rotten.

“I’d decided to re-install the Lottoland app and just thought I’d have a go at KeNow while I was looking through it.

"A few hours later I saw that I had won £100,000 by spending just £5 on the bet. I still can’t believe it.”

She added: “We are looking forward to spending the money on a new home and basically enjoying it with our family.

“I’m amazed that a quick download and flutter on Lottoland can have a such a life changing effect on our family.”

Lottoland, based in Gibraltar, launched in 2013 and now claims to have around 7.5million customers, mostly based in Europe and Australia.

Most lotteries ban tourists from taking part and are exclusively for citizens of the country in which they are based.

Lottoland does not enter people into the official draws but allows them to take part by betting on the outcomes with big jackpots covered by insurance companies.

KeNow draws are held every four minutes and players can bet up to 15 times an hour.

Mrs Oliveria said she had never visited Poland and only bets on that country's lottery because it gives you so many chances to win.

It's the first thing she's won since she was 15 when she bagged a motorcycle she was too young to ride.

To celebrate she cooked a family meal and dedicated the win to her grandfather, an avid lottery player, who died last year.
