ONE of Britain’s most important political artists will be showcasing a selection of his work at Oxford Brookes University next week as part of the Think Human Festival.

Born and based in London, Peter Kennard is a photomontage artist and senior research reader in photography, art and the public domain at the Royal College of Art.

With a career spanning over 50 years, his work has been at the cutting edge of political art since his involvement in the anti-Vietnam War movement.

His work is displayed in the public collections of several major London museums including Tate Britain's permanent collection.

Working in collaboration with the Oxford Brookes, the artist has chosen a selection of his work to display that reflect and highlight themes explored as part of the festival.

He said: “I’m thrilled to be showing my work at Oxford Brookes University’s Think Human Festival.

"The Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences has organised a large number of talks and events that are totally relevant to the state of the world today and I hope my work will develop the themes through visual means.

His work will be on display in the John Henry Brookes Building at the university’s Headington Campus.

The week-long Think Human Festival will feature more than 40 free activities, talks, debates and performances at the university's Headington and Harcourt Hill campuses.
