A MAN is being hunted by police after a teenager was raped following a night out in Oxford.

Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses after the woman was raped in the early hours of Sunday close to the back of the Cowley Road Tesco.

The 19-year-old headed away from Cowley Road towards Crown Street at about 12.35am when she was approached by a man.

They headed in the direction of Union Street and the back of Tesco and the assault took place nearby.

The man is described as being black and was wearing an untucked beige shirt, blue ripped jeans and white trainers.

Detective inspector Steve Raffield, from Oxford CID, said: "We are keen to speak to anyone who thinks they may have seen this man and woman walking in this area between 12.30am and 3am on Sunday morning."
