A MAN has been clocked driving at 116mph on the A34 and could face a trip to court.
Thames Valley Police's roads policing caught the man travelling at 116mph on Sunday morning with one of their speed guns.
The force said he was travelling northbound near the Abingdon North junction.
Officers said the man was driving faster than a roads policing car on an emergency call out.
Twitter users questioned the police's actions with one saying their location and timing was 'a bit sneaky'.
But officers hit back and said: "It’s about being proactive in the approach to road safety.
"Speed is one of the main reasons people are killed or seriously injured in a collision, thus catching the people who have a blatant disregard for this will clearly reduce the risk they pose to themself and others."
