AND they're off!

Hundreds of fundraising fun-runners set off at 10am this morning on the 37th annual Town and Gown run through the streets of Oxford.

Beginning in Parks Road, the 10km fun run will take in some of the city's most famous sites before finishing in University Parks.

Our reporter Tom Williams has been joining the fun this morning:

Up to 5,000 people were expected to take part with small and large teams from Oxford's colleges, businesses and schools all competing.

The event raises funds for Muscular Dystrophy UK, a charity that seeks to cure rare muscle-weakening and wasting conditions.

Before the main adult race there was also a children's race for younger fundraisers:

The race's event village opens at 8am with a junior 3k race starting at 9.15 before the main event at 10am.

Trophies and prizes will be presented to the winners at 11am before the village closes again at 1pm.

Road closures across much of the city centre including Parks Road, Mansfield Road and Broad Street are in place from 8am until 12pm.

Look out to see if last year's winning time of 32mins 36 secs, set by Paul Fernandez of Abingdon Athletics Club, can be bettered this year.
