A FAMILY has described being trapped in their home while a shootout raged just a few doors away.
UPDATE: Man charged as police name suspect
This dramatic video was filmed yesterday afternoon inside a house in Paradise Square, yards from the site of the shooting.
Several gunshots can clearly be heard along with police dogs barking as the family try to figure out what is going on.
Mum-of-three, Barbara Chapman, whose daughter filmed the clip, said: "We were actually quite calm and collected.
"It seemed totally unreal - like something off the TV.
"It was scary but we were in a state of disbelief and the adrenaline kept us going.
"I'd never heard gunfire before but we knew what it was instantly. My son kept saying it sounded like fireworks going off."
Ms Chapman and her children, aged 5, 11 and 14, were eating lunch when the first gun shots rung out.
They decided to leave during a break in the gunfire at around 3.30pm and had to stay with friends last night.
The family were able to go home after a police cordon was lifted this morning and they collected uniform before the children were taken to school.
