UPDATE: Council teams begin clean-up and replace fencing after travellers leave

MORE pictures of Bicester Park and Ride have emerged after a traveller encampment left the site on Saturday morning.

The images show the area strewn with litter and black bin bags, while a number of bollards appear to have been damaged.

As reported over the weekend, a dead puppy and two dogs with sores on their skin were reportedly recovered at Bicester Park and Ride on Saturday after the group had moved on.

The encampment left the park and ride in the early hours of Saturday morning.

After the site had been vacated dog rescue group, Doglost Oxfordshire, said a dead lurcher puppy had been found at the car park in Bicester as well as a young whippet with mange, and a springer spaniel so weak it had to be carried to a vet.

A spokeswoman for Friends, Families and Travellers, a charity representing the travelling community, declined to comment to the Oxford Mail and noted there was no evidence that travellers left the dogs.

Travellers have been setting up home at park and ride sites in the county for several months.

Councils have had to pay more than £10,000 in that time to pay for court orders and clean-up operations.
