THE life-saving air ambulance rescue of a nine-year-old who was hit by a car will be featured on television.

It makes up part of tv show Emergency Helicopter Medics looking into the vital work that Thames Valley Air Ambulance do day in, day out.

Episode two on Sunday shows Thames Valley Air Ambulance medics being deployed from their Oxfordshire base at RAF Benson to treat a child with a head injury follow the crash.

The programme will follow the team including doctor Monojit, paramedic Lisa and pilot Wayne and show how they treat the youngster Ar-Rayyan at the scene in High Wycombe.

The series will be a ten-part documentary on the charity as it attends a range of incidents across Oxfordshire, Berkshire and Buckinghamshire.

Thames Valley Air Ambulance chief executive officer Amanda McLean said: “It was a privilege to be featured as part of this series.

“It shows how, together with our fellow emergency services, we make a difference when minutes matter.

“Furthermore, as a charity, it provides our supporters with true examples of how their generous donations help us save lives.”

Ms McLean described the show as ‘inspiring’ and urged people who would like to support the charity’s work to text TVHM18 to 70070 £5 to donate.

The television series, called Emergency Helicopter Medics, will be broadcast every Sundays at 9pm on the channel More4 looking at various rescues.

The first episode followed the team as they set off from their south Oxfordshire base to treat a motorcyclist with a serious spinal injury, as well as a woman who was kicked in the face by her horse.
