THE age old question of which famous literary figure you would most like to invite to dinner has been solved by an Oxfordshire artist.
Sergio Cruz-Duran, from Wheatley, has recreated Leonardo da Vinci’s 15th-century painting The Last Supper, but with a twist.
Instead of depicting the last supper Jesus shared with his disciples it features famous writers and playwrights figures from throughout history.
Some of the the famous faces featured in the piece include William Shakespeare, Charles Dickens and Thomas Hardy.
They are despicted sharing a meal at the Bodleian.
Those who didn’t make the cut have had their famous words included on the tablecloth.
The former architect, 69, took three-months to create the masterpiece, inspired by his own love of reading, using only pen and ink.
