LITERATURE lovers enjoyed meeting fantasy author Philip Pullman at the Oxford Literary Festival.
The author, whose novel La Belle Sauvage was a bestseller last year, was at the Weston Lecture Theatre on Tuesday to discuss the work of science fiction writer Brian Aldiss, who died last year.
Mr Aldiss was a former literary editor of the Oxford Mail and one of the best loved science fiction writers.
Fans of Mr Pullman’s work took the opportunity to get copies of his books signed on Tuesday.
It is the latest talk from the acclaimed author. He was at the Sheldonian Theatre last month to discuss his writing techniques with children’s author Katherine Rundell.
ITV’s political editor Robert Peston is in Oxford to publicise his latest book WTF and his talk is due to take place with Matthew Stadlen today at the Sheldonian Theatre at 4pm.
