ORGANISERS have revealed the final headliner for Thame's Towersey Festival.
British country duo The Shires are the last act to be unveiled, joining the programme alongside the likes of The Proclaimers and Fisherman's Friend, who were announced last month.
The Shires
Towersey will see in its 54th year this August, delighting crowds with four days of music, ceilidh, workshops, film screenings and activities.
It bills The Shires, made up of Ben Earle and Crissie Rhodes, as 'the biggest selling UK country act of all time'.
The pair have earned international acclaim and were the first UK country act to receive an award from the American Country Music Association.
They will close Towersey Festival on Monday, August 27, a bank holiday.
Festival director Joe Heap said: “We are so pleased to finally announce The Shires as the last of our headline acts this year.
"They are quite simply the biggest UK country/ Americana act there is, and they will be making the bank holiday a day to remember."
