THE way the county council responded to a major company’s collapse will be examined by councillors later this week.

The council agreed a 10-year outsourcing deal with Carillion in July 2012 for a ‘wide range’ of property-related services.

But the council terminated some services in the contract in March 2017 and then more in June 2017.

By December 2017, the council terminated the rest of the contract arrangements to be finished by July.

The council's performance scrutiny committee will discuss it on Thursday.
