POP-reggae act UB40 and South London band Squeeze have today been revealed as the surprise headliners for this summer’s Cornbury Music Festival.  Following weeks of speculation, organisers have announced the full line-up for the three-day event, which takes place at Great Tew Park, near Chipping Norton, from July 13 to 15.

The big names join previously announced headliner Alanis Morissette at the top of the bill.

Completing an international line-up are Dutch jazz singer Caro Emerald, Jamaican reggae star Jimmy Cliff, Italian icon Zucchero, Chicago and Memphis divas Mavis Staples and PP Arnold and Israeli artist Irit.

Glaswegian rockers Deacon Blue, This Is the Life singer Amy Macdonald and Edinburgh’s Nina Nesbitt represent Scotland, joining Ireland’s Grainne Duffy and Catherine McGrath, and Welsh artist Andy Fairweather Low.

The South East is represented by Bromley’s Pixie Lott, Essex country star Megan McKenna, North London 80s diva Mari Wilson, South London rave hip-hop act Stereo MCs and Danny & the Champions of the World.

American talent includes Memphis soulsters Southern Avenue, Walking in Memphis star Marc Cohn, Lukas Nelson (son of Willie Nelson) and Lissie.

“I’m really pleased with the diversity and international flavour of this year’s line-up,” says organiser Hugh Phillimore, who rescued the festival from oblivion after last year marking its grand finale.

“It’s got the perfect Cornbury combination of classic heritage acts, newcomers and greatest hits.

"I’m really looking forward to Alanis – she’s awesome live – and Mavis, Jimmy Cliff and of course Deacon Blue. Cornbury simply does music without too many distractions: uncomplicated, uncool and something fun for everyone. My line-ups are never particularly cool but maybe this one comes a bit close?”
