THE COLD weather and snowy conditions affecting much of the country has caused the cancellation of a charity show starring Sir Michael Parkinson.
The famous broadcaster was set to appear tonight at Oxford's New Theatre as part of a variety performance to raise money for Afghan Connection, which helps educate children in Afghanistan.
Other performers included artist Grayson Perry, tunes from the West End’s leading lady Rachel Tucker and insights on dining nightmares with Jay Rayner all hosted by Gareth Malone, who would be doing a couple of performances himself.
But the theatre has announced via twitter this morning that 'adverse weather conditions' meant many of the performers and audience members would struggle to get to the venue.
They have confirmed the event will be rescheduled and ticket-holders should contact the theatre's Box Office for more information.
Regretfully tonight's charity event @NewTheatreOx has been cancelled due to the adverse weather conditions, which has affected the ability of the artists & many customers to travel to the venue. We are working on a rescheduled date - please contact the theatre Box Office for info pic.twitter.com/ranLW5FGtM
