A MAJOR high street retailer has revealed the date it will open its new store in Didcot.

H&M will open the doors of its brand new store in The Orchard Centre – covering a floor space of more than 1,500 sq m – at 11am on Thursday, March 22.

Boasting ‘great quality fashion at affordable prices’, the first 200 customers in the queue will receive an exclusive goodie bag, while all customers who join the queue before 11am will receive a 25 per cent discount wristband to redeem against their entire purchase that day.

Customers are then welcome to peruse the available fashion collections while enjoying the latest tracks from an in-store DJ.

Carlos Duarte, H&M’s Country Manager for UK & Ireland, said: “We are delighted to be opening a brand new store in Didcot next month. This new location is an exciting opportunity for the brand to expand and bring our fantastic fashion offering to new customers.”

Founded in Sweden in 1947, H&M opened its first UK store in 1976. Forty years later, the UK and Ireland portfolio has grown to include in excess of 264 stores.

A £50m project to extend The Orchard Centre is nearing completion, but less than a third of the new shops and restaurants have been let to businesses.

Nando's recently became the eighth major retailer to sign up for a place in in the centre last week, joining brands including TK Maxx and Marks & Spencer.
