OXFORD historian Liz Woolley's 66 Men of Grandpont project has been commended by the Royal Historical Society.

The documentary, exhibition and website told the stories of all the men from the South Oxford estate who fought and died in the First World War.

It picked up the accolade as part of the society's 2018 Public History Prize, which recognises work which 'promotes public understanding of history and communicates a critical understanding of the past'.

The film was one of the outcomes of a community history project led by Ms Woolley to commemorate the men from the parish of St Matthew’s in South Oxford who died in the First World War.
