A BRAZEN fly-tipper has dumped rubbish in a layby on the side of a busy Oxford road.

The litter, including bits of furniture and branches from a tree, has appeared in the A40 layby westbound near Cutteslowe.

Broken bits of drawers, chairs and pieces of plastic are piled up on the edge of the carriageway and over a cycle lane.

Oxford City Council's street cleaning team were made aware of the problem yesterday morning and the council said the rubbish was removed earlier today.

The car pictured is not thought to have been involved in the incident.
