RESIDENTS in the south of Carterton have a new representative on West Oxfordshire District Council following an election.
Conservative Michele Mead took the seat for Carterton South in yesterday's by-election.
She had 388 votes, beating Labour's Simon Adderley (83) and Liberal Democrat candidate Benjamin Lines (146).
The West Oxfordshire Conservative Association said: "Congratulations to Michele Mead for winning the Carterton South by-election.
"She increased the Conservatives vote share to 63 per cent.
"Well done Michele and thank you to everyone who voted today and helped her campaign."
