AN OXFORD researcher has been given a grant of £143,000 to look at the long-term effects of dieting and weight management programmes.

The money, from the British Heart Foundation, has been awarded to Dr Jamie Hartmann-Boyce, Senior Researcher at the University of Oxford.

Dr Hartmann-Boyce will examine more than 300 previous studies to determine whether diets have long-term health benefits even if weight lost during the programme is regained at a later date.
