THIS year's Oxonmoot Tolkien festival will be held in 'one of the loveliest settings for study in the world', organisers have announced.

The Tolkien Society will hold its 2018 get-together at St Antony's College, Oxford, over four days from September 20 - 24.

The program will include talks, quizzes, lectures, a silent auction, an arts show, workshops, performances and 'costuming'.

Announcing the location, the festival organisers said: "The setting allows delegates an opportunity to spend time in one of the loveliest settings for study in the world.

"The college is set in a pleasant leafy residential area of north Oxford, just a 10-minute walk from the heart of the city."

The annual Oxonmoot festival has been held in the city since 1974 on a weekend close to the birthday of Hobbits Bilbo and Frodo – September 22.

It now attracts more than 200 Tolkien fans, scholars, students and society members from across the world.

The organisers are also now accepting submissions for academic papers at the event.
