PREPARATORY work for the next stage of the Access to Headington project gets under way today.

Apparently timed to fit in with the half-term break, the work could delay motorists as Oxfordshire County Council contractors put up manned temporary traffic lights and install a temporary roundabout.

Work will start today and run until Friday on the John Radcliffe Hospital access road. It will take place daily from 9.30am to 3.30pm.

It is thought the next stage of the £12.5m project will be delayed until at least March for new Government funding to be secured.
