A PLAY about the creeping effects of drinking alcohol, commissioned by the NHS, is being shown in Oxford this week.
Produced by the Oxford-based Human Story Theatre company, DRY is a human story about the effects of alcoholism on a couple and their teenage daughter living in the Cotswolds.
The producer of the play, Amy Enticknap, told the Oxford Mail that the play is not preachy or anti-alcohol, but seeks to capture the funny yet insidious relationship many of us have to drinking.
Ms Enticknap said that while it is a play for everyone, it is particularly aimed at those with a new year’s resolution to drink less, and those partaking in ‘dry January’.
The play is at the Old Fire Station in Oxford today and tomorrow, with tickets costing £5. The play will then be shown in in towns across Oxfordshire - including Didcot, Banbury, Eynsham, Thame and Bicester - at varying prices.
