RESIDENTS of West Oxfordshire have been advised to remain patient if a bin collection has been missed.
Snow across the county, which began falling in the early hours of yesterday, put a halt to some of West Oxfordshire District Council’s collections.
In a statement, the council said: “Although main roads have been gritted by Oxfordshire County Council, many of our collections are on hills and minor streets.
“Collection trucks are heavy and will be braking as they do hundreds of stops on each round - this can be hazardous in icy conditions.”
Those who found themselves with an unemptied bin have been advised to leave it out or report it via the council’s online service at westoxon.gov.uk/news/july/missed-collections.
Garden waste collections in the district have been suspended until January 9.
