OXFORD’S homeless are able to get a bed this weekend as temperatures dropped.
Under the city council’s Severe Weather Emergency Protocol, extra beds are made available when temperatures are set to dip below freezing for three or more consecutive nights.
The council made the decision on Friday ahead of the weekend’s freezing weather.
Councillor Mike Rowley, board member for housing, said: “We have a humanitarian obligation to do everything we can.”
