AN OXFORD sex shop could have its licence extended today.
Darker Enterprises Ltd, which runs Private Shop on Cowley Road, has applied to extend the licence after it was last renewed by Oxford City Council in September 2016.
No enforcement actions have been carried out at Private Shop nor have there been any complaints, according to the city council.
Children’s charity Viva said sex shops have ‘the potential to have a detrimental effect on children and young people’ and urged the licence to be rejected.
The council's general purposes licensing casework sub-committee will decide whether to approve the licence at Oxford Town Hall.
