DRIVERS faced yet more  delays following two incidents on the A34 near Abingdon this morning - one of which was a four-vehicle crash.

The first reports involve a lorry breaking down on the road's northbound carriageway near Bagley Wood during the morning rush hour.

Then, a crash, which is understood to have involved two cars and two vans, happened just north of the Marcham interchange, also on the northbound carriageway.

Drivers faced delays of more than 40 minutes.

It is the third time this week that long queues have built up following crashes on the A34 south of Oxford.

On Monday, the northbound carriageway was closed following a crash between a large van and a Land Rover towing a caravan, that left debris strewn across the road.

And yesterday, two major crashes in the space of a few hours saw the road closed between Abingdon and Oxford.
