BRITISH people would rather receive a real Christmas card this year than a festive text or email, Oxfam has found.
Half of adults polled by the Cowley charity said they would prefer a handwritten gesture of goodwill.
Eight of 10 said they would hate to see technology ‘taking over’ Christmas, and 64 per cent said that those who did not bother to send a card had ‘lost the true spirit of Christmas’.
An overwhelming 83 per cent said more thought and feeling went into the written word than a quick-fire text message or post.
