IN 1999, Young British Artist Tracey Emin shot to international fame by dragging her unmade bed into the Tate gallery and calling it art.

Now, an Oxford artist has gone one better and turned his entire house into an art installation.

Mark 'The Stars' James is inviting art lovers – by appointment – to come and wander around his Barton home and garden, admiring paintings and sculptures, but also treating the whole visit as an immersive art experience.

Mr James, who has previously helped create a 'cosmic' mural on the floor of Cowley's Ark T Centre, said: "It's about showing people your personal space, not just your art.

"It is a bit like Tracey Emin's bed: the experience is an artwork in itself.

"It's something I've been thinking about for a long time, but I got to a certain point and decided it's never going to be perfect."

Mr James is taking visitors for the rest of this year each day from 11.30am to 3pm. To book a visit email thepiuniverse@gmail.com or call 07532426605
