A SCHOOL in Blackbird Leys is shut today for 'emergency' electrical repairs.

Northfield School in Knights Road, a school for boys with special needs, is expected to reopen tomorrow.

A note on its website stated the reason for the closure was 'health and safety', and apologised for inconvenience to parents and pupils.

Oxfordshire County Council's school closure website states the school is closed for 'emergency works' due to an electrical failure.

According to Ofsted the school, which teaches pupils aged 11-18, currently has 55 pupils on its roll.

In 2015 the school had to shut for repairs to its leaking roof.
