THE official opening of Leiden Square in the Westgate Centre will take place tomorrow.
To commemorate Oxford’s longest-standing twin city link, the official naming of the new Leiden Square will feature the unveiling of a mosaic.
This will mark last year’s 70th anniversary of the twinning link.
The ceremony will take place at 12 noon, and will include city councillors, civic visitors from Leiden, the Oxford Leiden Link and local performers.
The event, featuring bands, will run from about 11am to 3pm, with Lord Mayor Jean Fooks officially naming the square with the Burgemeester of Leiden, Henri Lenferink.
