AN OXFORD college's choir will perform on a national radio programme on Sunday.

Exeter College Choir will perform on BBC Radio 4's Sunday Worship programme.

It will be broadcast on the station from 8.10am and will be aired live from the Churchill Hospital Cancer Centre in Oxford.

The broadcast will anticipate St Luke's Day, who is the patron saint of physicians.

The service will be led by the Revd Canon Dr Margaret Whipp, who is the lead chaplain of Oxford University Hospitals.

It will focus on the work of the spiritual care given in the UK's hospitals.

The preacher will be John Wyatt, who is a professor of ethics and perinatology and a member of the Royal College of Physicians' ethics committee.

The choir has about 20 members, drawn from the college and wider university. It sings three weekly choral services in Exeter Chapel.

The programme will be broadcast live at 8.10am on BBC Radio 4. It will also be able to listen to online and on the BBC iPlayer after the live broadcast on the BBC website.

Recent programmes have been broadcast from Holy Trinity Church in Westbury-on-Trym, Bristol. Previous programmes broadcast from the city include a service in June 2014, from Worcester College.
