Cambridge was rated the best university in the UK for the fifth year running by The Times and The Sunday Times Good University Guide, published yesterday.
Oxford University came second, although it was top when it came to the proportion of students – 92.8 per cent – achieving a 2:1 or first class honours degree.
Oxford Brookes was ranked 84th, meaning it has fallen almost 30 places in two years.
