AN aspiring councillor who has been selected to fight the ward currently held by Oxford City Council’s leader has hailed him as ‘inspirational’.
Alex Donnelly, who is 36, was selected on Tuesday by Labour Party members to replace outgoing councillor Bob Price as a candidate in his Hinksey Park Oxford City Council ward.
Mr Donnelly, who is a PhD candidate at Oxford University, said: “To see Bob’s commitment is inspirational. Going canvassing with him and finding how much he knows about his residents is a lovely thing.”
He will fight the election in May.
