A TEENAGE girl was bitten on the leg as she crossed a playing field near Wantage.
At about 4.30pm on Wednesday, the victim, a 15-year-old girl, was walking across a playing field at the back of Grove Rugby Football Club in Recreation Lane, when she was bitten by a large black dog with short-length hair. The dog was not on a lead.
Thames Valley Police said the teenager suffered two puncture wounds to her leg but did not need hospital treatment.
Officers are trying to trace the female owner of the dog who left the club in a green jeep.
Anyone with information should call 101.
