WHEN we asked Oxford Mail Camera Club members this week to send us pictures on the theme 'back to school', we were expecting apple-cheeked cherubs in caps and blazers setting off with their pens and pencils.
We were not expecting hot air balloons.
However, regular contributor Jucas Janse van Vuuren (a previous camera club winner) has indeed fulfilled the brief: look carefully and you will see the balloon pictured top left is from the British School of Ballooning: an A* to him for creatively interpreting the challenge.
Mr van Vuuren said he took this remarkable sunset shot in a field not far from his own home in Beckley, just north of Oxford.
As usual, we will be publishing our full selection of some of our favourite photos submitted to the camera club over the past week in tomorrow's Oxford Mail.
Safe to say there are some more obvious interpretations of the back to school brief from some very proud parents and grandparents.
