A STAR-STUDDED line-up of culinary geniuses, including last year’s Great British Bake Off winner Candice Brown, are descending on Oxford for three-days dedicated to all things food.

The Foodies Festival, described as ‘Gastronomic Glastonbury’, starts today at South Park in Headington and will feature an array of street stalls, live cooking demonstrations and artisan producers.

Special guests joining the Bake Off star include Saturday Kitchen’s new host Matt Tebbutt and Michelin starred chef at Le Manoir aux Quat'Saisons Gary Jones, who will cook their signature recipes in the chefs' theatre with MasterChef’s Jack Layer, Billy Wright and Tony Rodd.

With the wide selection of sellers on Street Food Avenue, festivalgoers can take a culinary trip to all corners of the globe.

Organiser Sue Hitchen said: "This year's Oxford Foodies Festival is set to be our best year yet and we are really excited to show the best of Oxford culinary talent, street food and artisan producers, along with the UK's top chefs and bakers.

“Take home tips from MasterChef finalists and local chefs, try out a free yoga class in our brand new healthy living zone or so soak up the sunshine by the music stage.

“We pride ourselves on being a very family friendly festival, so bring the whole family along and enjoy the kids cookery school classes every day before they go back to school.

"We've had record-breaking advance ticket sales so we really look forward to seeing Oxford's foodies this weekend and ending our Foodies Festival summer season on a high.”

Japanese, Thai, Malaysian, Argentinian, Turkish, Indian, Korean, Mexican, French and African are just some of the flavours to feast on.

Food lovers can also meet artisan producers from the local area and across the country, ask questions about their produce and story, and stock up on award winning produce.

There will also be live music from the entertainment stage and a chilli eating competition for those tempted to risk their tastebuds.
