A MEMORIAL to the fallen of the First World War in Witney will receive essential repairs thanks to grant funding.
The town’s Newland war memorial will benefit from a grant of more than £1,000 from the War Memorials Trust.
Funding will enable the removal of loose mortar from the memorial’s construction joints, the re-pointing of the joints with lime mortar, repair to the damaged stone at the base and the replacement of missing pinnacles.
The memorial is owned by Witney Town Council.
