A DRIVER stopped his car in Kidlington to punch, kick and shout at a man, whose cheek was fractured in the attack.

At around 11pm on Saturday a man in his twenties was walking on Oxford Road, by the junction of Benmead Road, when he was approached by a man in a large silver saloon car.

The driver then got out of the vehicle and punched, kicked and shouted at the victim, before leaving in the car.

The attacker is described as white, shorter than 5ft 10ins, skinny build, pale and with short strawberry blond hair.

He was clean shaven and wearing a dark coloured hooded top.

The victim was treatured for a fractured cheek bone at John Radcliffe Hospital, and has since been discharged.

Investigating officer, PC Robert Mogridge, based at Banbury police station, said: "We are appealing for any witnesses to this assault to come forward.

"We are asking anyone who may have seen this attack or someone driving a silver saloon, which might be a Mercedes or a VW Passat, at around 11pm on Oxford Road to come forward."
