A BIT of extra love and care has been given to the Island Pond Wood near Bicester thanks to grant funding.
The volunteers of the charity Friends of Island Pond Wood, in Launton near Bicester, successfully bagged £998 from Cherwell District Council's SPARK funding.
The latest windfall helped secure a new picnic table for the woodland plus maintenance such as clearing the site and creating the base for a table.
It is hoped that the new picnic bench will get a lot of use over coming summer months and plans are in place to replace the boardwalk in the near future also.
