MARK Jones has been delighted with the attitude of his Oxford City players during the first few weeks of pre-season training.
Preparations for the new campaign will step up a notch tomorrow when Oxford United visit Court Place Farm.
City have been training twice a week and used the new 3G pitch last night.
The club have also added to their squad, with Zac McEachran signing from Banbury United, while Horatio Hirst has rejoined on a six-month loan deal from Sheffield United
Mamadou Fofana has also agreed to a third spell with City.
Jones said: “We’re looking forward to starting pre-season, we’ve been back training since June 27.
“I’ve been really delighted with the sessions so far.
“They look hungry and enthusiastic to be back.”
City are used to attendances of around 250 for Vanarama National League South games.
But they have made no secret of their intention to attract a record gate of 2,000 tomorrow.
Jones said: “We’re not used to big crowds.
“But this is a chance for the players to play in front of a decent size crowd and against a good football league opposition.”
