A ‘LIFELONG’ Oxford United fan will proudly wear his blue and yellow shirt for a charity challenge.
Richard Jackson will defy his epilepsy and arthritis to take on a 25 mile stretch of a 12,000 mile walk, led by Sky Sports star Jeff Stelling.
Mr Jackson grew up in Abingdon and still supports OUFC from his current home near Newcastle.
The 41-year-old is taking part in Prostate Cancer UK’s March for Men walk, which started yesterday in Exeter and will see Mr Stelling walk 400 miles to Newcastle via 40 football clubs.
Mr Jackson will join participants on the last leg of the walk on June 16, proudly wearing his Oxford United shirt from the Emirates Riverside to St James’ Park in Newcastle.
He said: “Prostate Cancer is a huge charity. This is one of the few male-only [charity] events.
“I’ve been a lifelong fan of OUFC through good times and bad times. I still get to the matches.”
