OXFORDSHIRE’s vineyards could receive a post-Brexit boost in business, according to new research.
Accountancy group UHY Hacker Young said the falling value of the pound meant it would become more costly to import booze from the rest of Europe. Bothy Vineyard, Brightwell Vineyard and Linch Hill Vineyard are all based in Oxfordshire.
UHY Hacker Young spokesman James Simmonds said: “As the cost of exporting falls and with imports rising, English sparkling wine has an opportunity to be a contender for Prosecco and Champagne in the market.”
